As we all know living an anxious and or depressed life is very hard.  As a result feelings and thoughts about the affects of anxiety and depression in our lives run wild at times.  In addition, we tend to grow resentful and isolated since many anxiety sufferers tend to think that they are suffering alone, but of course you're not. Anxiety and depression affect millions of people every year and this has probably been the case since the cave days.  In any event, I want to know what bothers you about your anxiety and or depression.  What

Beware Of Depression

Most people that have an anxiety disorder spend lots of time preoccupied with anxiety (fear) symptoms like palpitations, chest pain, malaise, or any number of horrible feelings.  However, as an anxiety sufferer winds their way through the maze of constant worry and panic, depression could be sneaking up on them or in many cases already present. Anxiety disorders over the long haul rarely appear by themselves.  The comorbidity rate for anxiety disorders, that is anxiety add-ons like depression and obsession, is high.  It's a screwed up

Depression, Anxiety, Water, And Bruce Lee

This short video clip reveals a great deal about adaptation.  It has nothing to do with martial arts and everything to do with how one should/can adapt to changing situations.  Anxiety, depression, stress, these things can cause us to recoil from ourselves and the world.  We do this in hopes of making the pain stop, but what Bruce Lee suggests is preferable since it can help us to absorb the shock of our anxious state. Water is formless and non-resistant, if only we could have our mental states and emotions follow this line. This malleable

This question haunts me more than any other. I chase happiness like some people chase money, objects, or whatever they really, really desire. Happiness is an elusive concept to understand and attain even if you don't have any mental issues to speak of but even then I think you can still be anxious and happy. Being anxious and happy is a hell of a high wire act to pull off. But the reason I believe you can suffer with anxiety in the depths of your soul and still come out on the other side is because the things that make you unhappy, at least

Being labeled anything with a negative connotation doesn't feel good.  However, for better or for worse labels help us to identify things more readily. When it comes to anxiety disorders we are usually labeled as sufferers of panic disorder, OCD, general anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, PTSD, agoraphobia, and other types of phobics.  But ironically I think the psychologist of the past got it right in one word - Neurosis. What exactly is neurosis?  Well I can try to give you some quasi accurate interpretation but let's lean on

In my previous post we talked about creating a self care plan and some of the benefits (and importance) of having one.  I hope you were able to come up with a couple of things and plan on actually doing them!  Your self care plan should help bring some joy into your life and give you some tools to deal with panic attacks and anxiety in general. Today, though, I want to tackle a more difficult subject.  I want to share some info on how to create a crisis care plan and talk a bit about why it’s important to have one, some things that should be
